Sean Cheetham & Nathan Fowkes wk5

WK 5: Portrait Painting with Sean Cheetham

Had a really sweet model named Julie this week who was also an actress/ artist.
Tried to capture a sweet, colorful side to her.
Technique wise - worked on halftones. Treating forms like topography.

WK 5 : Sketching from Life with Nathan Fowkes
This week we worked on color. Nathan talked about "unity and variety" and capturing the "simple statement."
Worked on value comps. 3min.

Moved to black/white/ red. Was drawing too big. 5 min.

Added blue/ yellow. 7 and 10 min.

5 min.

  3. Hey nice post! This thumbs are focusend in the simple statement? (treat forms as simple light, halftone, shadow).
Can you talk more about the Technique that Sean uses to work on halftones "Treating forms like topography.". Thanks.
