Creature DESIGNS!

Hello sketchblog! These are done in photoshop with a mouse! yes a Mouse! I have a tablet at home, but I don't like using it because it don't like using it because it lags... lags... :(
I had fun doing homework this week because I was watching cartoons while painting these dudes. So pretty fun. But as a result... these guys tend to look a little cartoony, and look comic-book like. Pumpkinhead looks like a cross between venom and deadpool. So yeah... I don't know about that. Yay, done with homework!

Figure Drawing with Shapes

Some drawings I did for Kevin Chen's Analytical Figure Drawing Class. I did these while I was at Barnes and Nobles watching people standing and walk around. I'm learning how to draw with shapes - which is really different from what I'm used to. I feel like I have to completely re-learn how to draw again. Some of the stuff (like the lemon curve technique) is pretty cool though. I think I need to slow down a bit on the sketches and also draw lighter.

Creature Designs

Some stuff from my Creature Design class at Concept Design Academy. Man, this stuff was creepy. Had to redesign three characters from the movies Pumpkinhead, American Werewolf in London, and The Thing. Omg, I was in a bad mood all week. All I could see at night were werewolves and stuff. Pretty scary.

Sketch-blog Update

This is a little "sketch-blog" update.  It's actually a lot more difficult than I imagined to draw in my sketchbook, and post daily.  I usually frown upon people who bitch and complain about their inadequacies in public because it seems embarrassing, but I feel like I have a need to do it also.  Dang, I need to get better.

On a happier note, I went to Art Supply Warehouse to buy art supplies for my upcoming art class - which was fun.  I skipped the sketch group today because I was a little busy and it was really cold outside.  And, I've been studying the story-line and script for the "Black Sun Project" today.  Initially, people told me it was a simple "light vs. dark" story, but I believe there are some really tragic characters in the story, and some pretty interesting conflicts.
