6 servants adaptation!

what if....

In this future, robots are very advanced and have personalities. A giant robot manufacturing announces that he will let his daughter marry any man who is able to survive his 3 tests.

Our protagonist is a poor nobody, he sells robot parts. He is very honest and has strong moral principles. Once he sees the picture of the girl, he falls in love (or so he thinks). His other friends think the girl is hot and they try to compete for he challenges. He travels a long journey. Along the way, he meets some broken robots. He earns the robot's trust by fixing them. He takes him a lot of time and effort to fix the robots, and he is worried about someone else finding the girl first, but he has a kind heart.

He finally reaches the girl's palace. Everybody so far who tried the tasks failed. The 6 servants help him complete the tasks. And it is very epic. It is very very epic. So he finishes. The girl ends up marrying the guy in a small wedding wedding because she is ashamed. The guy tries his best to love the girl, but she doesn't love him back because she is very disappointed that the guy is a nobody. The girl complains all the time, and satisfies her desires by going clubbing and drinking. The guy finds the girl very annoying. The robots are his only friends. He realizes for all that suffering for the girl, he didn't even want her . The girl ends up running away, getting drunk one night and somehow dies. The guy then re-evaluates how he has spent his life and see his true friends in a new way. the robots are his true friends.

the moral is to take your time and look at the world around you. Your friends are already there. You just have to realize them.

Six Servants Dramaturgy

I'm creating designs for a story called TheSix Servants, by the Brother's Grimm. Last year, my roommate gave me a comic book version of a bunch of Grimm Fairy tales, and one I really liked was called the "Six Servants." I've actually read that story when I was about 5 years old, except it was based on another tale called "How Six Men Got On in the World." The stories are pretty similar, perhaps they are different versions of each other.

I've spent some time analyzing the historical content of the Brother's Grimm fairy tales. If you read these stories, you will realize it is very gory. It is no coincidence that the French Revolution was going on at the time, in addition to wars between Germany and France. It was a bloody time. Also, these stories all have some kind of moral to them. I'm making it a top priority to convey the moral in my adaptation of that fairy tale. I'll do that by making the characters relatable to the modern audience.

"The Six Servants" is an unusual story. 1) It is not gory like the others. 2) Even though there is a prince, he is not the protagonist.

In theater, a protagonist is defined as the character who undergoes the most change in the story. The protagonist are the 6 servants. In the beginning, they were freaks of nature sitting in the forest doing nothing. However, they use their diverse talents and work together to help the prince defeat the queen and gain the princess. In the end, the servants become very important. The antagonist is the queen. She is the one who challenges the prince and the servants with the tasks.

Thus, the message of the story is: even though you are someone who is weird, you might do important things someday. I think the way to make this story relate to the audience is to make the 6 servants characters that the audience can see themselves being. The fat kid, the tall lanky kid, the kid with the temperature disorder, the kid with the bad eyesight etc...

Biped Insectoid WIP

This is for a Creature of the Week activity for CA.org. The theme is "Biped insectoid." My inspiration came from the rhino beetle and the silverfish and some parts of the bull ant. My grip with this is that it seems kind of busy with too many different components. What do you guys think?

First september post

I haven't been updating much/ drawing since I've been in school.  I hope I continue to improve and have fun with drawing/ painting at CMU. I want to really be strong about continuing to update and post on the blog.  That might be doing other hw quicker, so I have more time to draw.
